Pregnancy Miscarriage

By: jamesrichard

Pregnancy miscarriage or spontaneous abortion is the loss of a pregnancy, on its own, which occurs in nearly 20% of all confirmed pregnancies. This usually occurs before 20-24 weeks of the pregnancy but it is most common during the first 12 weeks. When a pregnancy miscarriage occurs, the fetus, placenta and the amniotic sac are expelled by the body.

Basically the baby’s failure to be developed in the uterus marks pregnancy miscarriage. Sometimes miscarriages can take place without the pregnant woman even coming to know that she was pregnant. Usually, the bleeding secreted from the vagina is one of the most common and prominent indicators of miscarriage. If you are pregnant and display this symptom, call your physician immediately. You must hurry and call your doctor to prevent losing your baby.

There are several reasons that can bring about miscarriages but still there are unexplained causative factors that terminate a pregnancy. Skilled medical professionals have this theory that the primary cause of miscarriage is genetically linked. Some say there is a defect fertilized ovum which do not have the capability of developing into becoming a zygote.

For instance, preventing Down Syndrome usually just requires that you take 400 micrograms of folic acid every day for a few months prior to getting pregnant and then during your pregnancy. There is a reason, they have pre-conception check-ups and a nutritional program! The mother needs to pay attention to her body and supply proper nutrition before conception and to the growing fetus throughout the pregnancy.

Another tried and tested secret to get pregnant is to schedule the best time to have sex. This means to have sex the day before ovulation occurs. If you ovulate on Day 10 in your regular 28-day cycle, then have sex on Day 9 and Day 10. In this wise, enough healthy sperm would have populated your fallopian tube ready for the released egg to be fertilized.

If a miscarriage has started, there is very little to do in order to save the embryo/fetus. If you notice even the slightest spotting on your underwear, call the midwife or GP immediately and ask for a consultation. This is very important, even if it might sound useless at the time. If the cervix is still closed, that means it is only a so called “threatened miscarriage” and a lot can be done to help the baby and keep the cervix closed.

Maintain emotional distance from your baby. If you experienced pregnancy miscarriage before, you might be surprise by how you are relatively showing the lack of emotional involvement you feel from your baby during the next pregnancy. Do not personalized your baby for a time. If you have suffered loss, it's common to hold back by the time to choose to know as little information about the baby before his birth.

Motherhood goes beyond having a miscarriage. Yes indeed it is a sad way of loosing your unborn child that needs a mourning period. But, moving from the tragedy is the best way to keep on going and trying to get pregnant once more. Support is readily available from groups to one on one with a therapist. Remember, you are not alone on this. There are other women who have experienced the same thing and have 10 children now.
