The first thing you probably wonder when you learn about Squidoo is "what does the name mean?" Well, the idea of Squidoo is to imagine the worlds oceans as representing the content of the internet, and you are a giant Squid with a giant eyball who dives deep into the content bringing new knowledge to the surface. Squidoo strives to be rich in fresh internet content by giving free web pages (or Lenses as they call them) to everyone. Anyone can start a free Squidoo lens about almost any topic that they have knowledge about.

And did you knowyou can even make money from your lens? Without you spending a dime? Yep. The lens will have Google adsense ads at the top of the lens and you get half of the royalties! So when internet searchers discover your lens that you created about widgets, the Adsense ads will be related to your widgets automatically! The ads are small and do not get in the way.

You are allowed to build as many lenses as you want. The more lenses you build, the more visitors and the more you end up getting paid. But many people just use these lenses to promote other business programs and some people just like to use their lens like a blog. You can use a Squidoo lens for many different things limited only to your imagination.

I created a lens about "paid to click sites" that lists all the best ptc sites which I joined for free. Now I get plenty of traffic to that website and I make more money from my paid to click sites. Plus I make money from the Adsense ads.

I also created several other lenses that you can look at if you want. They are mostly about making money on the net and how to advertise online. You could create a lens about cooking recipies or whatever subject you may know about. You will have a lot of fun and before you know it there will be lots of people visiting your lens.
